Prejudice

Prejudice can be a very dangerous thing to do because it can indeed effect a relationship with someone in the future, in this type of thinking there is always stereotypes involved which is bad because that person can be the opposite of what you think they are. For an example adults think that teenagers don't know any better which can be a misinterpreting only because a teenager could be very smart but because on stereotyping that teen may never be given a chance to do anything. Prejudice and influences is a bad thing in society because they can effect people physically and emotionally. The way a person stereotype can hurt in the long run, like you can be very negative to a person because of a prejudice but some time down the line that person can show up again. Everyone is different and yes some people are the same as others but that doesn't mean we should think or treat them the same way. If you only think of a person because of their outward appearance, you'll never know what they really are about on the inside.

Comparing Self-esteem and Self-efficacy

First of all the definitions of self-esteem is the emotional state of which a person is in; and, self-efficacy is how people are able to achieve certain goals that they set. The comparison of these two is that they both work hand in hand, because if you are emotionally down than a person trying to achieve a goal will struggle because of there thoughts of failing. If a person has high self-esteem or their emotions are high than there wants and goals also called self-efficacy will be achieved.

Movie on 07/27/07(Perception)

The movie on perception was about how people can see things in different ways. On the movie it showed how one point of view and be totally different from someone Else's point of view. Also people can see different things like a certain drawing may look like one thing to some people but can look totally opposite by others. This is how perception is, some people might see things one way because of past experiences or expectations; however, other people might see it in a opposite way.

Social Thinking and Social Influence

Social thinking and influences is a bad thing in society because they can effect people physically and emotionally. The way a person stereotype can hurt in the long run, like you can be very negative to a person because of a social thinking but some time down the line that person can show up again. Everyone is different and yes some people are the same as others but that doesn't mean we should think or treat them the same way. Coping

Having strategies for coping can be very hard to master, only because it can take awhile to learn how to cope after something has happened where it can affect your life. Coping is like a defence against stress and hard times a person is having; however knowing how to cope is the first step to help a person overcome the hard times in life. Like using humor as a stress reliever can make you forget about whats going on and pull you up from what ever is making you down. Things like finding others to make you happy or to talk to about things can also keep the hard things in life away; some examples are like loved ones, close friends, or maybe even people who are going through the same things.

Finding coping skills can be a difficult task because not everyone coping abilities are the same, it maybe hard to laugh sometimes because that brings up bad memories; or finding someone close maybe hard because a person could be alone. Finding what works good for you can be difficult only because that person doesn't know exactly what makes them feel better. Of course there are always the stereotype ways people thing of how to cope, like eating a lot, or doing things that are dangerous. These things maybe common for some but not always affective for all.

Coping is hard not just because its the way of counteractive way to get rid of the stress but its also something that a person doesn't know how to do unless they know for sure what coping abilities make them happy or able to relieve their stress.

The Stress Chart

The concept of stress are things that happen in peoples lives that affect them emotionally, most of the time we don't think of these things mainly because we think its all part of life. The concept of stress is a theory of what stress is and how it comes in different ways. A chart in the psychology book has different events in it that can affect a person positively and negitively. The things that stress us out can be different form one another, same to as what can make us happy. Stress normally doesn't all come at once, for most people its all the little things that can lead up to a big drop and a stressful life.

The book tell us that stress comes in different froms and from different people, because not all froms of stress is cause by an individual. This can also be caused by someone close to you or even from someone you barly know, and this is why stress is hard to deal with; you don't know when things will happen but when they do it may affect a person more emotionally than others. The chart in the book list things that can be very stressful and very non stressful, in a persons life. Like for an example, getting a new job can be exciting for some because they think of it as a new beginning of things; however starting a new job can also be stressful because of the good impression your trying to make.

Stress can be a number of things but the affects of it can be different for everyone, and each situation can be different for all. Some may think failing a test is stressful but some may just blow it off as nothing, and this is because they don't care or they know they can do better next time. The concept a stress can't really be determand only because stress affects everyone differently and different things affect people in different ways.

Stress and Its effect

Stress can be different for everyone, some events can seem more stressful to some people than to others. In chapter 3 about stress, it has lists of things that can cause stress for people, which some are more extreme than others. Stress might just start as a small problem and a person might not think about it until a major type of stress occurs than the small stuff may become bigger. Something else about stress is that small types of stress may not cause problems in the beginning but after some time all the small stuff can lead to bigger things that will cause problems. Stress is only as big as the person whos is thinking and dealing with it, stress can come and go on a regular bases and can be regular as monthly, weekly or daily.

The causes of stress can be anything and everything in life, can be caused by the person who is being affected or can be influenced by events that are happening around a person. Stress can be brought on by positive and negitive things which can level themselves out or make things worse. Stress levels are only as big or small to the people who respond to them.
